Details of Work Parties
On the conservation and restoration projects there are plenty of opportunities on offer. Anyone with experience of construction or conservation would be ideal but this is not by any means essential and any offers of help will be warmly welcomed. - Call John below or just turn up at the venue publicised on here.
If you want to do something positive to help the restoration, then join our regular Work Parties!
Generally SCARS often organises work parties to do practical work on and around the Canal.
Our work party organiser is John Hughes. You can contact him on 01744 600656 or email for further information.
All volunteers are assured of a warm friendly welcome. You don't have to come for all day, just come for a couple of hours and try it!

We can supply work gloves, goggles and hard hats. (You can bring your own.)
SCARS have all the necessary tools and equipment.
Be prepared to work under supervision and abide by any rules of the site.

Waterproof clothing is useful if it should rain.
The work won't be too hard; you just work to your own strengths.
